Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Browned before using
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup M&M's Optional, for topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat until it turns golden and smells nutty. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar; mix until well combined.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and M&M's if using.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Serving

  • Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Can be topped with ice cream or sea salt for extra flavor. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or refrigerate for about a week.
