Ingredients
  

For the Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For tossing wings
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For thickening the glaze

For the Glaze

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes Adjust to taste

For Garnishing

  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives Add for serving

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Pat wings dry and toss them with olive oil. Arrange in a single layer on the sheet.

Baking

  • Bake for 40 minutes flipping halfway. Broil in the last 3-4 minutes for extra crispiness.

Making the Glaze

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water. Stir into glaze and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add pineapple chunks and stir for 1 minute.

Coating the Wings

  • Toss hot wings in glaze until fully coated.
  • Garnish with chopped chives and serve warm.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure wings are thoroughly dried before tossing in olive oil. Adjust chili flakes for desired spiciness. Consider pairing with a creamy dipping sauce or fresh sides.
