Ingredients

Lobster Tails

  • 2 pieces 6-8 ounce lobster tails, fresh or frozen (thawed) Use high-quality lobster for best flavor.

Lemon Garlic Butter Mixture

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted Use unsalted for better control over seasoning.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Freshly minced garlic enhances flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Freshly squeezed juice preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven broiler to high heat and position an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
  • Using sharp kitchen shears, cut lengthwise down the center of the top shell of each lobster tail, stopping just before the tail fan. Do not cut all the way through the bottom shell.
  • Gently pull the meat up through the opening you cut, resting it on top of the shell. This is called butterflying.

Making the Butter Mixture

  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Brush half of the lemon garlic butter mixture evenly over the exposed lobster meat.

Broiling

  • Place the prepared lobster tails on the foil-lined baking sheet.
  • Broil for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Remove the tails from the oven. Brush the remaining butter mixture over the meat.
  • Return the tails to the broiler and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and firm to the touch. The internal temperature should reach 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve broiled lobster tails with garlic bread, rice, or a fresh salad. Pair with white wine or sparkling cider for a delightful meal. Best when enjoyed fresh, leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the fridge or frozen for up to 3 months.
