Ingredients
  

Pasta and cheese

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni Cook until al dente
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Boursin cheese (herb and garlic flavor)

Sauce ingredients

  • 2 cups milk Gradually whisked into the roux
  • 1/4 cup butter Melted to create a roux
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour Used to thicken the sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Topping

  • Breadcrumbs for topping (optional) Add before broiling for a crunchy top

Preparation

  • Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to create a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the mixture thickens.
  • Add the shredded cheddar cheese and Boursin cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and smooth.
  • Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni.
  • If desired, transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top, and broil until golden brown.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
