  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk Can use dairy-free alternative
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup bourbon Can be omitted for a non-alcoholic version
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • Butter for frying

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, mix chopped bacon with bourbon and maple syrup.
  • Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt a little butter.

Cooking

  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are soaked.
  • Place soaked bread in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides.
  • Once cooked, remove from skillet and stuff with the bourbon-maple bacon filling.
  • Drizzle warm maple syrup over the French toast before serving.

Notes
