Ingredients
  

For the fritters

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Preparation

  • Peel and chop apples into small chunks. Pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Beat in milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth — do not overmix.
  • Fold in chopped apples with a spatula until evenly distributed.

Cooking

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into oil and flatten slightly.
  • Fry in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.
  • Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Glazing

  • Make glaze by combining powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle or dip warm fritters in glaze and serve immediately.

Notes

Best enjoyed immediately while warm and crispy. Pair with coffee or apple cider for a delightful experience.
