  • 150 g unsalted butter Use for a rich flavor and chewy texture.
  • 120 g light brown sugar Provides sweetness and helps achieve the gooey consistency.
  • 80 ml honey Adds natural sweetness.
  • 280 g rolled oats The main ingredient that provides texture.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan) / 350°F and line a 20 cm square baking tin with non-stick baking paper.
  • In a large saucepan, add the butter, brown sugar, and honey. Warm over medium heat, stirring until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and add the oats, mixing well to ensure they are fully coated.
  • Transfer the mixture to the lined tin and spread it out evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for about 20 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center remains slightly wobbly.
  • Allow to cool completely in the tin before slicing into 16 squares.

Notes

Store leftover flapjacks in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For longer storage, wrap individually and freeze for up to three months.
