Preparation

  • Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  • Chill dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes for better flavor and texture.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Scoop dough onto sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden and centers appear slightly underbaked.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes on the tray before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Cookies can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Freezing is also an option for longer preservation.
