Ingredients
  

Apple Mixture

  • 6 cups sliced peeled apples (such as Granny Smith) Using a mix of tart and sweet apples is recommended.
  • 1 cup sugar Adjust based on apple sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be replaced with gluten-free flour.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, and cinnamon; set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, milk, melted butter, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Assembly

  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  • Spoon the apple mixture over the batter evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the apples are tender and the top is golden brown.
