  • 4 medium to large Baking potatoes Russet or Yukon Gold recommended for best texture.
  • to taste Sea salt For seasoning and crispy texture.
  • to taste Freshly ground black pepper
  • butter Butter For serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Wash the potatoes to remove any dirt and dry them thoroughly.
  • Pierce several holes in each potato with a fork to prevent bursting during baking.
  • Season the outside of the potatoes with sea salt.

Baking

  • Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack and bake for 1 to 1½ hours, depending on their size, until a knife slides in easily.

Serving

  • Remove the potatoes from the oven and cut each into quarters without slicing all the way through.
  • Add a generous amount of butter to the center of each potato and season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra flavor touch, brush potato skins with olive oil before baking. Experiment with different salts for unique tastes. Allow baked potatoes to rest for a few minutes after baking for ease of handling and enhanced fluffiness.
