Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 roll 1 kaiser roll (or any sturdy sandwich roll), split
  • 2-3 slices 2–3 slices bacon Use thick-cut or standard bacon as preferred.
  • 1 large 1 large egg Cook to personal preference (sunny-side-up or over-easy).
  • 1 slice 1 slice American cheese (or cheddar) Feel free to experiment with other cheese types.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 tsp butter or a little bacon fat (for the pan)
  • Salt To taste.
  • Black pepper To taste.
  • Optional: hot sauce, ketchup, mayo, or a slice of tomato Customize according to your preference.

Instructions
 

Cooking Bacon

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add bacon and cook until crisp, 3–6 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
  • Transfer cooked bacon to a paper towel and keep 1–2 teaspoons of bacon fat in the pan (or wipe and add butter).

Toasting the Roll

  • Split the roll and toast cut-side down in the same skillet (or toaster) until golden, about 1–2 minutes.

Cooking the Egg

  • In the skillet over medium-low to medium heat, add butter or bacon fat.
  • Crack in the egg and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook sunny-side (2-3 minutes) or over-easy (flip and cook for 15-30 seconds).
  • If you want the cheese extra melty, place the cheese on the egg during the last 30–60 seconds and cover the pan briefly.

Assembling the Sandwich

  • Layer the cheese-topped egg on the bottom half of the roll, add the crispy bacon, and cap it with the top roll.
  • Add hot sauce, ketchup, or mayo if desired.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different toppings and variations. Store leftovers tightly wrapped; best eaten fresh.
