  • 1 tsp Old Bay or Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika For extra depth
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted, for drizzling)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • ½ lemon Juice of (optional, for brightness)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped for garnish)

Preparation

  • Peel the onion while keeping the root intact to hold the layers together during cooking.

Cooking

  • Brush the onion with olive oil or melted butter, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle it with Old Bay or Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Place the seasoned onion in the air fryer and cook at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes, checking occasionally, until it becomes tender and golden brown.

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • While the onion is air frying, prepare the garlic butter sauce by combining melted butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a small bowl.

Serving

  • Once the onion is cooked to perfection, remove it from the air fryer, drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the hot onion, and garnish it with chopped parsley.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to revive crispiness. Consider experimenting with different seasonings or stuffing the onion for variations.
